  15. In the Windows NT Program Manager, the About Program Manager dialog
  16. box displays the processor type, implementation, and revision for both
  17. the central processor and for the floating-point processor. For
  18. example, the About Program Manager dialog box might display the
  19. following information for a MIPS computer:
  20.  
  21.    Processor: MIPS-R4000 - Pr 4/64, Fp 5/0
  22.  
  23. "Pr" stands for processor and "Fp" stands for floating-point
  24. processor. Note that the implementation and revision information are
  25. separated from each other by dashes.
  26.  
  27. For an Intel-based computer, the processor type is displayed, along
  28. with the CPU stepping, denoted by a 'd' and the stepping number. For
  29. example:
  30.  
  31.    Processor: 80386-D1
  32.  
  33. This would mean that the D1 stepping of an 80386 chip was detected.
